Marco Helbig

Born 1979, studied Ethnology and Theology with a focus on Jewish history and religious minorities in the Near and Middle East. Helbig wrote his doctoral thesis on the life and work of Leipzig’s Rabbi Dr. Ephraim Carlebach. He has been organizing rap and poetry workshops on the topics antisemitism, racism, bullying, misogyny and social exclusion since 1998. His work has been honoured with several awards, including by the Federal Agency for Civic Education and by the city of Leipzig with the Courage award.
